Why this is worth paying for when the application is free
Getting the grant takes a form and some patience. Keeping it takes an account that earns its place. Google expects a 5% click-through rate, working conversion tracking and regular activity, and it suspends accounts that drift below that two months running.
Most charities that lose their Ad Grant lose it months after being approved, not at the application. An account built properly around what people actually search for is the difference between $10,000 a month of advertising and a dormant account nobody looks at.
Questions people ask
- How long does it take?
- Two to four weeks from starting, and almost all of that is waiting on Google's verification rather than anything either of us is doing.
- What do you need from us?
- Someone connected to the charity to complete the Google for Nonprofits application, because Google checks that and it cannot be done on your behalf. Then access to your website, or your web person's details, so tracking can be installed.
- What if Google says no?
- Full refund, no quibbling. It is rare for a registered charity with a working website, which is why the eligibility check comes first.
- Is there anything ongoing?
- Not unless you ask for it. The handover is written so your own team can run the account. If you would rather we kept an eye on it, we do that separately, and nothing about this fee commits you to it.
Afterwards
Some charities would rather not run it themselves
An Ad Grants account is not set and forget. Google checks the click-through rate every month, search terms drift, and keywords need pausing before they drag the account down. If you would rather that was somebody else's job, we manage accounts for £90 a month. Decide later, after the account is built and you have seen what running it involves.
